Chiron

The Chiron is the fastest, most powerful and exclusive production Super Sport car in the history book of Bugatti. Its stylish design, innovative technology and iconic performance-oriented form makes it an outstanding masterpiece of art that pushes boundaries beyond imagination.


The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engine two seater sport car developed and manufactured in Molsheim, France by the French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S, as the successor to the Veyron. The car is named after the Monegasque driver Louis Chiron and shares the same name as that of the 1999 Bugatti 18/3 Chiron concept car.

The Bugatti Chiron is an exercise in utmost. Its one of those cool cars that put a smile on your face at the sight of it or the more you think about it, from its ridiculous performance figure to its flashy interior choices.

Specifications and Performance

   The main carry over component from the Veyron is the 7,993 cc (8.0L) quad-turbocharged W16 engine. This distinctive masterpiece produces an unthinkable 1500 hp and 1600 Nm of torque with an almost linear power output between 2000 and 6000 rpm.

   Similar to it predecessor, the Veyron, the Chiron utilizes a carbon fibre body structure, independent suspension and a Haldex all-wheel drive system. The carbon fibre body has a stiffness of 50,000 Nm per degree.

   The Chiron can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.4 seconds, 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 6.5 seconds and 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) in 13.6 seconds....much faster than the Veyron.
 
   I guess this next paragraph will blow your mind off

   The Chiron top speed is electronically limited to 420 km/h (261mph) or 375-380 km/h (233-236 mph) without the specific keys for safety reasons, typically arising from the tyres as the manufacturer concluded that no tyre currently manufactured would be able to handle the stress at the top speed the Chiron is capable of achieving. In short, the Chiron will need specially made tyres that will be able to handle its top speed.
   The Chiron's top speed without the electronic limiter is speculated to be 465 km/h (289 mph)

Record

   At the 2017 IAA show in Frankfurt, Bugatti announced that the Chiron broke the record of fastest 0-400-0 km/h (0-249-0 mph) acceleration time, completing it in approximately 42 seconds in a span of 3.2 kilometers (2 miles) at the Ehra-Lessien high speed oval. The car was driven by Colombian racing driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

   In a world-record-setting test, the Chiron clocked 400 km/h (249 mph) in 32.6 seconds, after which it needed 9.4 seconds to brake to standstill.

Interesting Facts About Chiron

   1)   Its a packing 1500 hp:

            The Bugatti Chiron 8.0L quad-turbocharged W16 engine can produce an unthinkable 1500 hp and 1600 Nm of torque.

   2)   Its amazing top speed:
       
              At the call of Bugatti, what comes to one's mind is speed, and the Chiron has it all. Speed and luxury is associated with the Bugatti with the superb engineering design, the Chiron has a top speed of 280 mph.

   3)   Its heavy weight:

               It weighs in around 1995 kilograms nearly 4400 pounds.

   4)   The Chiron is driftable:

                Having doubts of pulling the Chiron's rear end out in the corner, Bugatti said Yes you can....just do it.

   5)   The Chiron engine takes seven days to build. Two teams of two build an engine each over seven (7) days. After completion, its being tested to verify how much power it generates.

   6)   The rear light bar is one piece of metal

   7)   The carbon fibre is beautiful but not easy to make:
   
                   In case you don't know what carbon fibre is. It is a flexible fabric-like material that when combined with a polymer, can be moulded into the shape of a car part that is stronger and lighter than today's steel and aluminum parts.

   8)   It takes five (5) months to build a Chiron
                It takes three month in getting all the parts to the Atelier in Molsheim, then two months to bolt the things together.
