The average cost of owning a Bugatti is a bit complex. An annual routine of maintaining the Bugatti cost around $21,000. It's tire change is recommended every 2500 miles and cost around $33,000 per set. Also, changing the entire wheel at every 10,000 miles is also recommended and it cost $50,000. This puts the average cost of ownership right around $150,000 per year. (this includes service, tires and taxes).

Insurance can run from $2,000 - $4,000 per month. A trusted choice agent can help you find a company with a Bugatti insurance program. Insurance companies use a variety of figures to calculate car insurance rates.....

  • Current car value
  • Purchase price
  • Vehicle's age
  • Quality of the interior
  • Any specialized parts or repairs
  • The type of engine parts the vehicle has
  • Any other factors directly related to the vehicle
  • They also consider individual credentials like criminal history of owner, driving record, age and how the car will be used - whether driven for daily use or used as a second vehicle.
These are the major things to consider when insuring your car.

What happens when you order a Chiron

Each Chiron takes an average of five months to build from start to final stage and delivery at the hands of 20 employees who assembles the 1800 individual parts by hand.

1) Any color of your choice
Let's begin with customization. The customer (you) team up with one of Bugatti's designers to decide on which color choice and material. Bugatti offers 23 different varieties of topcoat shades, along with eight (8) variations of naked carbon fibre. The interior gives you a more opened choices. Thirty-one (31) different colors of leather and eight (8) different colors of Alcantara suide. There are thirty (30) different stitching options and eighteen (18) different carpet color. Even the seatbelt comes in eleven (11) different hues.

2) Production begins
After you've signed off on the Chiron's final design, Bugatti organizes its team of providers. The parts required to build your car are being ordered from the providers which are located throughout Europe, which then finds its way to the production facility in Molsheim, Alsace, France. The car also receives an official slot in the production queue.
A month before production begins, Bugatti assembles the chassis and its substructure to ensure its all fitting together nicely and properly. Parts of which are then transferred to the paint shop, where it takes about three (3) weeks just to apply the paint. Each layer is applied by hand and each coat must be sanded and polished individually. Once perfection is attained in the painting and polishing, the real assembly begins.

3) Kicking assembly into high gear.
In this phase, assembly of your Chiron begins. The first step is the powertrain. The engine comes preassembled from the Volkswagen Group engine plants and already has 8hours of testing under its belt. The powertrain then mates to the chassis. This takes about a week to finalize by three employee.

Powertrain is the mechanism that transmits the drive from the engine of a vehicle to its axle. A Chassis is the framework of an artificial object which supports the object in its construction and use.

Next step is, the rear end of the Chiron takes shape around the powertrain. The monocoque and rear end are held together with solid 14 titanium bolts, each weighing 34 grams. The wiring straps starts linking up and the radiator tubing is installed at the same time with three (3) water pumps and packs of intercoolers and radiators which isn't a cheap piece of cake to bite.

Nextly, the wheels are installed and the car is rolled to the filling station where it receives the fluids necessary for the future task ahead. The car is checked again for leaks then makes ir way to the dynamometer (dyno) where its engine is examined for proper function and output.

4) Exterior looks
Once the engine passes its test, the exterior panels are then applied. This is also done by hand. Before the panels are installed, do keep in mind that they are already test-filled using mobile frame, so workers ensure a perfect paintwork . The panel gaps are measured to a crazy scrupulous degree...this takes a full working week.
Before the interior is mounted together, the Chiron undergoes water test. It is beaten with deluge of monsoon-style rain for about 30 minutes to ensure there are no leaks. The next three days are spent putting the interior together. Two workers spend time aligning and coupling every piece of leather, carbon fibre or Alcantara.

5) Final test
With everything put in place, its time to hit the road for the real-world test drive. Bugatti takes a whole day to apply a protective foil for the drive, the wheels and under-body are different to prevent any sort of issues. The road test covers both light and heavy driving.
Once the test is over, the car returns to the paint booth where the foil is removed and the vehicle is scrutinized for any paint issue.
After undergoing all test, a final manager sign-off is done, which means its time to collect the car. You can either pick it up in Molsheim or ask for a delivery to your house.
